Cybersecurity Postgraduate Summer School

The doctoral school does not only include research activities. During your stay, you will also be able to enjoy the surroundings of the The Sierra de Guadarrama National Park and its great natural beauty. Additionally, during your week in Madrid, you can enjoy a set of additional activities listed below

Visit to Segovia

Just a 45-minute drive from the residence lies Segovia, a UNESCO World Heritage city with a rich historical and cultural legacy. This visit, part of the cultural activities organized by the Cybersecurity Chair and its Summer Doctoral School, will allow us to explore the various aspects that have defined this city over the centuries, from its Roman period to the present day

Museums of Madrid

Madrid is known internationally for its outstanding museums. They are mostly located in the city center, offering a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy works by great artists. For example, the Prado Museum houses works by painters such as Goya and Velázquez.

Los Miradores Path

A circular trail with an approximate duration of 3 hours and 8.9 km through the Sierra de Guadarrama that culminates at the Mirador de Los Poetas, passing through the Puente del Descalzo and the Pradera de Navarrulaque.

Poster Session

Bring your own poster and let’s have a chat about it! Don’t have a poster of your work yet?, don’t worry! The goal of this session is to use the posters of our work as a way to introduce each other. There will be coffee and drinks to enjoy during the session and after that, we will try to provide some clues and tips on how to create a poster that helps you engage and attracts the attention of attendees during a conference.

If you have issues travelling with a poster let us know and we will print it here.

Abstract Writing Workshop

People tend to say that you only get one chance to make a first impression. The abstract of your paper will create this first impression and because of that it is very important. This workshop will help you identify which are the most important things you need to include in your abstract, what you should leave out and how to connect everything in such a way that readers will want to keep reading!

Paper Writing Tools

Writing can become a burdensome task when trying to transform all our findings into a high quality, well-structured, and easy to read manuscript that accurately represents the research that we have performed. However, there are many interesting tools that can help us make this process easier and more efficient, such as regular expressions, text-to-speech, voice typing, or AI. In this workshop, we will see some of them and learn how they can be used to improve the quality of our papers.
